Half Moon Cookies: Medias Lunas

These are Great Grandma’s Cookies IV, Half Moons:



  • 1 C. flour
  • 2/3 C. plus 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp. vanilla or 1/2 tsp. powdered cinnamon


  • Frosting (same as in Chambergos recipe)
  • Colored sprinkles


Mix all cookie ingredients together until well blended. Roll out the dough 1/4 inch thick and use a half moon cookie cutter to cut out the cookies.

Bake on greased cookie sheets in a 175°C oven until golden.

Once the cookies are cool, top them with the frosting and colored sprinkles.
