Occasionally shoals of fish would come close enough to the shore to offer an easier catch for the fishermen that usual. "The fishermen would drop the net from shore and make a huge circle and then slowly pull it in on both sides pulling all the way up the first block of the street. At the end, they would have to get into the water to capture all the charales. What wasn’t sold right there at the lake was laid out on the sidewalk going up the street to dry in the sun and sold later up at the plaza or in front of a fisherman’s house to be eaten like chips with chili powder on them."
