Ajijic in 1972 was a much more rural place, where the pace of life was slower and more in tune with the seasons. A couple who were near-neighbors of Marsha pose for a photo outside their home. Marsha recalls that "I remember women with hair this long sitting in front of their houses on the days they washed their hair in order to let it dry. Unbraided, their har would hang to the ground."
