Federico Chavez Sosa created this rug (tapete) employing the complex Caracol (conch shell) pattern. It is all naturally dyed churro wool mixed with mohair. The dyes are cochineal (red), pomegranate (green), and moss (yellow). Note the curves in the pattern, which only a master weaver can achieve, along with the depth and dimension of the piece that incorporates many subtle shading variations of color.
