Thanks to the efforts of the local turtle rescue agencies, more and more baby sea turtles are being hatched each year. The success of the programs, however, will not be known for another few years when scientists study the data to determine if there is an increase in the number of nesting turtles because it takes a female Olive Ridley seven years to mature and reproduce.
