ON THE ROAD TO ENLIGHTENMENT
Learning from your home or office has never been easier. Academic institutions are continually updating their websites, and today's university websites provide an innovative learning environment.Teachers are using the Web to conduct virtual classes and students are participating in discussion groups with classmates around the world. Likewise, for foreigners looking to study in Mexico and for Mexicans hoping to study abroad, the best advice is to head online and check out educational resources on the Web.
UNAM
www.unam.mx
/5 Stars
Mexico's National Autonomous University is Latin America's largest public university. It also has one of the best academic websites, featuring the standard university profile as well as exclusive features that will interest students of all ages.
Tune in to Radio UNAM, www.unam.mx/radiounam, or check out the latest issue of the Digital University magazine, www.radiounam.unam.mx/. Online surveys, UNAM trivia quizzes and news forums (www.unam.mx/foros/foros.htm) complement this exemplary site.
There's so much to the UNAM website, you'll want to bookmark the site map: www.unam.mx/indices/mapa.htm
UNITED STATES INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY - MEXICO
Now the Alliant International University/Mexico Campus.http://www.alliantmexico.edu/about-alliant.html
/5 Stars
USIU-Mexico is Now the Alliant International University/Mexico Campus. Based in San Diego, California with a Mexico City campus, it has a website that covers all the basic info. The portal here features details about its undergraduate and graduate programs, and provides information about admissions, financial aid and related resources.
NORTH AMERICAN EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP NETWORK (El Net)
elnet.org/
/5 Stars
This network links scholars in Canada, Mexico and the United States. It features a number of helpful resources in English, French and Spanish, including newsgroups and a chat.
Check out the subsection titled Study Mexico at studymexico.org/.
This directory provides information for students and faculty interested in pursuing educational opportunities in Mexico. Unfortunately, the search function does not work so well.

TEC DE MONTERREY
http://cmportal.itesm.mx/wps/portal/english/
/5 Stars
If organization alone were worthy of kudos, this site would win several prizes. The general information page (www.sistema.itesm.mx/info/) has all the contacts needed by prospective students or faculty.
The site provides the basics, but little else. It certainly is not as engaging as the UNAM site. Visitors will find a search engine, information about the university's mission and details about its "virtual university.
Unfortunately, like many Tec de Monterrey Web displays, it does a better job of telling you what it does than showing you.
