Through the lens:
Día de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead)
Cemeteries
By Geri Anderson © Geri Anderson 2007
The arched entrance of El Panteón is a favorite backdrop for tourist photos. Each year they decorate the arch with fresh marigolds, the symbolic flower of Day of the Dead. In the evenings, musical and dance groups perform on stages in front of the entrance. It's a festive, but crowded, area.
