Mexico's Hacienda Architecture


Hacienda Tenango was founded at the beginning of the seventeenth century, Tenango, near Cuautla in the state of Morelos, was the first sugar hacienda in Mexico. The original owner, a Basque named Sabidigoitia, was a man of mean spirit but great charm. According to legend, he had made a pact with the devil and was able to appear in seven places at once.
