Mexico's Coastal Architecture

CASA GUINNESS - Acapulco, Guerrero
Architect: Marco Aldaco, Guadalajara

Houseguests are an integral pattern of life in Acapulco. In Casa Guinness there is a cottage for guests. This building is set apart from the main house, allowing visitors to be as independent as they wish. The cottage building is placed at the highest level of the site, with its own view ovewr the bay, and a convenient location close to the parking area.

In another building, overlooking the pool and built above a large garage, is Guinness's air-conditioned study. (The air-conditioning is used to combat the devestation which the tropics inflicts on books and papers.)

The Dining Room

Shelves on the right are filled with ceramics from Puebla. The floor is covered with a traditional petate mat.
