Mexico's Coastal Architecture

CASA TORRE - Costa Careyes, Jalisco
Architect: Diego Villaseñor, Mexico City

Architecturally, Villaseñor favors clean, restrained lines, reminiscent of Barragán but softened by curved edges. These strong, simple forms offset the ethnic nature of the palapa and their supports, resulting in a pavilion form that is primitive, sophisticated and contemporary, all at once.

Steps lead from the Casa Torre living area to a pair of guest palapas.
