Pictures of Morelos by Rick Meyer

One of the smallest states in Mexico, Morelos is nevertheless productive agriculturally and strategic geographically. Although being on the land route between Acapulco and Mexico City has fostered industrial growth, the main attraction has been its ideal climate. For this reason its capital, Cuernavaca, in the northern highlands has attracted escapees of nearby Mexico City since the conquest. Most of the rest of the state consists of untouristed prosperous farming communities that offer the explorer an exquisit blend of the best of Mexico now with a touch of what it was 40 years ago. Cuernavaca is served by frequent buses from Mexico City (less than two hours away) including direct service from the Mexico City airport.(221 pictures taken April 2004 on 44 pages)
