When I read this message this morning I assumed you are asking a "Tony" a question about Star Choice reception so I didn't answer. No one by that name answered so here goes. First one needs a lot more information from you before a diagnosis can be made. First what type of satellite dish to you have, a Star Choice Elliptical 60 E or 75 E and if not, do you have one or two satellite dishes pointed at the Star Choice birds, and what is their/its diameter? (I don't need the measurements if you're using a Star Choice dish, just whether it's a 60 or 75 E) Number two what type of signal strength are you getting on the average transponder or lets say channel? Star Choice satellite receivers are different. If you don't remember how to check your signal strength, look in your users manual. On the older star choice receiver I was in front of last week on Vancouver Island, using my remote control, I pushed the options button followed by 6 then 3 and then 1. If your signal strength is close to 25, your signal is too weak. I think a Star Choice technician told me that you should have at least a signal strength of 70 to minimize rain fade. I would be happy in Mexico with anything above 45 to 50. First what type or size of satellite dish or dishes do you have and what type of signal strengths are you typically getting?
