Not being in the place where something needs to be done is a disadvantage to be sure, but nonetheless I have a question that I am sure has been answered somewhere down the line but due to time constraints, I come to my mexconnect friends for information and advice. My husband and I are planning our home build on some property we purchased from a family member of his in Xaltiangus, a small pueblo about 40-50 kilometers north of Acapulco. He had a small casita built for his mother several years ago just behind the family "homeplace" so to speak. Two BR, kitchen, dining/sitting area. There is an area unfinished that is/was to to a laundry room; needless to say his mom has never had it done. Well, I ramble. We want to build a second level on the house with two more bedrooms a sitting area and a bathroom, with a patio. We are doing all we can to see that the materials are being purchased and she is handling the hiring of the workers, etc. As you all already know, the time frame for getting things done is so different than what we are used to here; but we are wanting to do this so that we can actually live in the upstairs level while we build our house. We have tried for years now to have her put her own phone line in; she always procrastinates and finds some reason to do it later. She currently just gets calls at her sister's house next door, which is Grandma Bello's "homeplace" (she passed away 10 or more yrs ago). She and the sister will have a rift and then, well you know how that goes. She seems to be somewhat clueless about the installing of the phone line, except to say that it is gonna cost about 3300 pesos and then about 300 pesos per month for the bill. (all of course she heard from someone who heard from someone.....)Hey we don't care, we will gladly pay. But who is the land line carrier; Telmex? I looked for their website and there was no link on how to start new service. Please help if you can. And forgive my ramblings, as I am just frustrated. That will subside as soon as I can get my cup of coffee down, I think. haha "Look at every day for what it is-a gift."
