Rolly, I think that cable Internet speeds probably depend on which ISP a person is using. I am using Cablemas http://www.cablemas.com/00_cablered_home3.html here in Cuernavaca. They don’t have full nationwide coverage, but they are in several principal cities. I am paying $368 Pesos, including IVA and all taxes per month for advertised speeds of 1300 bps download and 256 bps upload speeds. Tests usually show that I am averaging 1240 bps download, and 240 bps upload speeds. For a home user like me, I am very happy with those speeds and that price. Our Vonage phone is usually (not always) reliable. Cablemas recently upgraded my download speed from 512 bps to 1300 bps at no cost to me. This is the second time they have given me a free speed upgrade. I started using them a few years ago; the only speed they offered then was 128 bps up and download speeds. After a year or so, they had 256 bps up and download speeds. If you were a subscriber to their TV cable service, which we are, they offered a $120 peso discount from the $150 Peso price for the upgrade to the higher speeds. It only cost me $30 Pesos for the upgrade that time. A year or so later, they sent me an Email informing me that they were discontinuing their 256 download speed, and they were upgrading me at no additional cost to 512 bps download, the 256 upload speed remained the same. There was no Email notification last month; they just upgraded me to 1300 bps download speed, upload speed remains at 256 bps. I checked their website, and they have now discontinued the 512 download speeds. Boy, it’s a different world now. When we first moved here, there was no high speed Internet service in Cuernavaca. It took several years for Cablemas and Infinitum to complete their networks for full coverage of this area. I, and a lot of the Mexconnect members can remember when many, many posts concerned which dial up service was the best to try avoid the nasty habit that Telmex had of frequently disconnecting us when we were online, resulting in using up all of our 100 free local calls per month. I used to have an extra $20 or $30 Pesos to pay every month on my phone bill. That was not a lot of money, but it was aggravating as hell being disconnected, and needing to log back on every 10 to 20 minutes. I wonder if Telmex has ever figured out why they have no subscriber loyalty? End of rant, Rex "The supreme happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved" - Victor Hugo
