high speed internet

We are moving to Ajijic, and considering a house in Chula Vista. It has access to wireless broadband and has a satellite dish installed.
We need high speed internet for our computers (three in a wireless LAN) and for our Vonage phone. Would you recommend going with DSL, or installing a receiver for wireless connection for the best service?

Your question is asked and answered several times per year, and a search of previous posts would give you comments thereon. That said I have both ADSL and fixed WiFi. Both work fine much of the time. Neither work well all of the time for VoIP. You will find some folks who swear by ADSL or Wireless and swear at the other, each positive that one works much better than the other. It all depends upon your actual upload and download speeds

It depends where you are, how good the service will be. Be at the outer edge of the wifi signal footprint and you are going to have problems, be too far away from the ADSL hub and you are going to have problems

By the way a satellite dish is pointed toward a satellite. Fixed wifi is not via satellite but line of site from a tower a few thousand meters away

Thanks - I am sending your reply on to my husband, who is not a subscriber, and does not have access at this time to the forum.
