The Usa system is what I am talking about. Starband and DirecWay In the US the System runs about $600-$800 plus $59-$69 a month. This is for a very basic installation. Anything out of the ordinary and the installation cost will soar. The system can NOT be self installed in the US or anywhwere. You have to have a certified installer commission the system. Installing in Mexico would be considered "out of the ordinary" Now the trick is to find a certified installer in your area of Mexico. I assume you know it is illegal to do this, and the companies (Direcway or Starband) must be made to believe you are really situated in the US. Once you find such a person that has the know-how it is not any problem. The DBSTV people have made a business out of it. They will have a certified installer travel to your house in Mexico and install it. There are some tricks you have to know to make it work. The people at DBSTV have learned the tricks. I don't sell them or install them, or work for DBSTV. I just know for sure they will work because I have friends that have them, and I have seen the system working. I also know several people in Mexico with the Starband 2-way satellite system (working) and it works on the "stock" antenna. About 24" If you live in an area where there is a satellite TV person, he'd most likely be your man. There are a number of independent satellite people that specialize in that stuff. They are great for areas without telephone service. I admit it will cost you a lot more to have it in Mexico than...say Kansas. But when it comes to electronic gadgets, what doesn''t? It's like anything else, if you want it bad enough and keep hunting for ways to do it, anything is possible. I have only told you a couple of ways...I'm sure there are more DavidG Villa Dos, Cozumel "I still believe in ignorance as my best defense"
