Yahoo problems?

Is anyone else having problems with Yahoo this morning? It's almost impossible to get email to down load, with both Firefox and IE - I keep getting "timed out" notices.

I've answered my own question by accessing a Yahoo Users forum, answers section. There are many complaints that Yahoo mail is not working today. Group owners are also reporting that things have been slow over the last few days so Yahoo seems to be suffering from overall problems.

I have been sucessful in getting yahoo mail today. My.yahoo page isn't loading but, if you go to the main yahoo.com page, there is a link to mail which works when clicked. Also yahoo mail via POP3 is working fine as well. Finally, you can get your mail by accesssing mail2web.com.

I cannot access from the home page either Brian - it tells me I have x number of messages and go to Yahoo Mail to collect them but that page cannot be accessed. There are many complaints on Yahoo Answers forum from people with the same problem. Someone locally has noted that it seems to be addresses with numbers in them that are unavailable, but, someone on the Answers forum says "not so" as they are unable to access any of their accounts.

It seems to be a hit or miss problem - Yahoo is busy deleting messages complaining about the problem but does not post any information on what is happening or when they may have the problem resolved. I guess when you pay nada that's what is worth - nada.

Yahoo now seems to be back up again - thanks goodness. I must admit I had forgotten about mail2web.com - thanks for reminding me.

I was curious whether or not this Yahoo connection issue was related to the ISP you were using, ie Prodigy. As moderator, I have access to your IP #s. Bournemouth is a neighbor of mine and I already know she uses Prodigy. Upon researching her IP #, I was told that she had prodigy infinitum and that the IP # was registered in Mexico City. WE DO NOT live in Mexico City.

I then checked to see whether or not Brian was also using Prodigy. ( I was thinking the problem was unique to Prodigy, because when I connected to Yahoo this morning and checked my mail using another ISP, here in Ajijic, I got through) Please correct me if I am terribly wrong Brian but you are in the states. In fact your IP # is registered in San Antonio, Texas.

So my theory was wrong, because you, Brain, are using an ISP in the US perhaps Texas, and you bournemouth are using Prodigy here in Mexico. I guess that when I went to Yahoo several times this morning without having any problems, that I was just lucky and not because my ISP was better, Darn.

I wondered about Prodigy too, Pete, but when I went to a Yahoo Users forum and found a myriad of complaints from people, I realized it was a fairly general problem. The question of Yahoo addresses that had numbers being unduly affected was raised but people on line said, no, all their addresses both with and without numbers were down. You just could not access the mail page from any Yahoo source. What ever the problem was, it seems, touch wood, to be over for the moment.

Yahoo group folks are also saying that Yahoo has been slow in posting messages and has been losing messages over the last few days - so they seem to have some generalized problems.
