TiVO DVD Recorder

Has anyone had any experience using TiVo in Mexico? Can it be used to record without subscribing, and can you just hook up with the area cable or satellite companies to use this device? This would be connected to a 42 inch Plasma TV. Thank you

My question is can it be hooked up to a VOIP phone? I believe it can be but how? My Direct tv doesn't get much but I still would like to know.

It depends on your VoIP provider and the Tivo model you are using. Some people have no problems, some have sporadic success, and for some it is a no go. For Vonage help, go to this forum and do a search for your series of Tivo.

I can't help with other VoIP providers.

We're not in Mexico yet. We been TIVO subscribers since 1999. Currently we have TIVO connected via wireless to our Sprint (always on) Broadband. Works great. I would assume this type of setup will work in MX as well.

Now if they would just come out with a standalone HD TIVO.....
