Star Choice Problem

My Star Choice installer is in Canada for a couple of months, so of course I now have a problem. I have the regular package plus three or four bundles of programs. Starting two nights ago I only got CNN and ABC from Buffalo ' Channels 500 and 386. Im wondering if I accidently hit some magic button or if there is a problem here. Can anyone recommend a technician who can come to my house and straighten out this problem.

I can't think of any button you could have pushed to create this problem. Have you tried to reboot your receiver, like you do with your computer? To do that, unplug it for perhaps a minute or two and plug it back in. Then wait a while, until it re-downloads info from the satellite. It may be that simple. But then again, it may not.

Note that Pete said UNPLUG it, not just turn it off. Important distinction. My receiver instructions say unplug for 5 minutes.

There is "Unplug" and "Reset Buttons" and "Remove Backup Batteries" all need a certain amount of time.

And then in some "Gear" there is a sequence of buttons to press in a certain amount of time, take to long and you have to start from the beginning again.

And that's just for installing a new roll of toilet paper.
