Satellite Internet Cost and Availability

Can't Post | Private Reply
I would guess this has been covered already and if so, can you please send me the thread?
I am wondering what the cost and availability of satellite internet is in the Chetumal and Tulum areas are?
We are not yet ready to make the move but we are gathering information so we can plan accordingly.
Thanks

I deleted my answer.

EDIT: I was in a hurry this morning as I rushed out the door to get my drivers licensed renewed, and somehow thought you were talking about satellite TV. Sorry I didn't answer your question. But I do have my new license. and the posts that follow mine give you good info

Sorry about that. :)

Hughes Net is here. It takes some peculiar installation setups, involving using a special mask with a slit to cover the LNB face, twisting it to various angles, while prompting the Hughes equipment to recognize those signals and orientations.

Maybe send Hodamayo a PM asking for help. Ricardo Medina also sets them up.

Clausont, where exactly are you looking to set up? I set up Hughesnet Internet systems throughout Quintana Roo. I am from the Cancun area. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Thank you

Thanks for contacting me Mike. We have not chosen an exact spot just yet. Near Chetumal, or Bacalar possibly. I am still doing research to figure what our costs will end up being.

No problem, just shoot me an email or give me a call when you need more information. I think that you need to really find a spot where you like to be first. All places you mention are nice and satellite Internet will work in those locations, however if you have the need to watch TV, Canadian TV works best down that far South, but up North towards Cancun, you have more options towards US TV, it will work down South, but would need at least an 8 to 9 foot antenna.

Thank you
