Cynthia, I like the second forum mentioned much better than the one you mentioned. Why? Because it is much more active. And also some of the information for example published on the Ajijic DBSTV forum appears to be so inaccurate. From what I have read, the forums in other areas are often more active and the information posted more accurate PERHAPS this is why the Ajijic forum hasn't had one post for more than 5 months. LET ME give you an example of some of the inaccuracies posted by someone by the name of MexSat who says he's a satellite dealer here in Ajijic. If you were into HDTV, VOOM was the way to go. Folks in Guadalajara were able to get the signal, but apparently MexSat never had and didn't believe one could get it here lakeside just 30 miles to the south. He was sent some VOOM equipment from his US distributor to test. According to MexSat's post last February, he tried the receiver and that VOOM was not available in this area and that it didn't matter anyway because VOOM was going out of business. #1 Although VOOM went out of business DISH continues to transmit many of the VOOM signals, 10 HD channels to be exact. #2 I get these VOOM signals in spite of MeXSat's comments stating it is not possible to receive them here lakeside. My total cost? Less than $100 US. I had to exchange an SW 21 for a DH 34 switch. I already had the LNB. Oh, and I pay $5 extra per month for the programming. I didn't make a post correcting him on his forum because it just would have created more tension.
