Prodigy Infinitum down

Prodigy's ADSL high speed internet service is down again. Mine went down about 10 AM this morning and was still down the last time I check at about 8 PM.

At least with Prodigy and Lagunanet, when their high speed internet connection is down, their dialup services are normally working. Right now even though Infinitum is down you can still hookup over their telephone or dialup service

Please correct me if I am wrong here, but Mexican Wireless is a Prodigy Infinitum re-seller. So when the Prodigy Infinity Internet connection is down, the Mexican Wireless customers do not have internet. And because they do not have dialup available, there is no backup service the way there is with the other two Internet Service Providers.

According to another poster on another forum, Prodigy came back up at 10 PM some 12 hours after it went down.

this morning, March 18. Could not receive messages thru dial up Prodigy. Kept getting error messages and was asked to give my sign on name and password to no avail. Called the 1800# in DF and representative said service would be restored in 2 hours and it was!

I live in SJC and want Infinitum service. TelMex office in Ajijic says I can have it but I have to change my prodigy billing from my telephone in Yucatan to my number here in Jalisco. They cannot do that for me from the Ajijic office. I have to call 1800#. I really need to keep my email address and they cannot guarantee that I can do so which has prevented me from signing up. Then I figured out that most likely no one is going to sign up for my particular email address and I can go on line and change it after I sign up. So I am going to bite the bullet and change over on Monday. This is with the hope that it is not: a national holiday or a time when all service is down!

Thank you for heads up re holiday. Checked the new Lakeside Directory and sure enough March 21 is Benito Juarez' birthday.
