Looking to borrow/buy a video stabelizer

Can't Post | Private Reply
Anyone Lakeside have a video stabelizer they want to sell (lend)?

I want to copy some of my VHS commercial tapes for "Fair Use" backup but don't have a stabelizer. I could probably have one ordered but it would take forever and cost probably 10X what it would NOB.

Thanks.

Have you considered burning your back-ups to DVD disks? A free standing DVD burner runs around 300 US$...a good investment.
However, if you do not have a video capture card, you could use your camcorder and connect it to your fire wire PC and your VCR; load your movie into the computer...provided you have a DVD burner and a large hard disk to hold and render the movie.
I am doing this and am backing up my movies for posterity.

I see I really wasn't clear. I want to back up my VHS tapes to DVD but due to the Macrovision copy protection, I need to "dlean them up" from the VHS player to the DVD recorder. But I am working with a good piece of equipment (Xpert DVD Maker 2.0 USB) and it may have a stabelizer in it. Also, I just ordered a stabelizer on eBay and a friend is bringing it down to me in a month.

Thanks.
