I learned something about satellite dishes

I learned something about satellite dishes the other day. About half the channels on my service had died due to low signal strength. I had that problem before due to a near-by tree sending new branches in front of the dish which is located at the corner of my single-story house. I checked the tree and found it was not the problem, but from the ground I could see a lot of bird droppings on the dish. Humm, maybe that stuff is scattering the signal. Since my ladder climbing days are over, I got the water hose and tried squirting the dish from the ground. Not enough pressure to dislodge the stuff. I’ll have to get Enrique to climb up there. When I went back in the house, I was surprised to discover that all the missing channels where back good as new. It wasn’t the bird droppings, it was an accumulation of desert dirt that was scattering the signal. We haven’t had a good rain here since Nona ran aground, but we have had several dust storms. So now I know that I have to watch the tree and wash the dish. Gee, more dishes to wash. Rolly E-visit me http://Rollybrook.com On Facebook as Rolly Brook
