FTA Signals in English in Mexico?

Can't Post | Private Reply
Is anyone aware of any FTA (free-to-air) signals via satellite in central Mexico of any Enlish-language programming. I have searched various sites, but I've come up empty. Maybe someone can lead me in the right direction. I'd love to catch some network feeds or even some remote, independent feeds, just for curiosity's sake and bragging rites among others in my field. What about Dish Net's 119 sat footprint for Aguascalientes? What size dish is needed, American or Mexican made? Prodelin??? I attempted a three meter, custom-Mexican-made, fiberglass dish for it with no luck, which put me out almost 2,800 pesos. We were able to pick up the 110 at about 50 signal with just a 1 meter "Sky" dish and Directv type LNB. I have all the switches needed to combine the two, but for the life of me, I just can't figure out an equation for the right size dish, look angle and focal length to hit the 119 sat. Theorettically, it is accessible from AGS., but theory and reality can be two totally different animals. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Suffering with analog cable,

In the greater Guadalajara area, although some folks are using a 90 cm dish pointing at the Dish 110 West bird, the pros recommend a 1.4 meter to give a sufficiently strong signal to work during the rainy season. These same folks suggest that a good quality Ku dish of at least 1.8 meters is required for the 119 West Dish Satellite

There are tons of FTA (free-to-air) signals available in central Mexico in any # of languages to include English. To get a listing of the available programs, take a look at http://global-cm.net/ and click on the mpeg-2 section. I can receive a majority of the signals he lists. He also has a section about dish pointing angles

Perhaps someone else can talk about dish quality
