Does Prodigy have a news server?

You know, usenet... nntp... where you go to read newsgroups?

Try as I might, using Google and prodigy.com.mx, I can't find the address! It should be news.prodigy.net.mx or even noticias.prodigy.net.mx, but no machines are found at these addresses.

Thanks in advance.

I'll end the suspense... the answer is NO

Or, at least I've seen two separate messages to that effect on groups.google.com (though they are a bit dated, each being over a year old.)

groups.google.com will suffice as a replacement for a news server when all you're after is searching for content, but if you're trying to have a conversation, especially one that goes on and on for days, weeks, months or even years, it's hard to beat a good news server with excellent article retention, little-or-no censorship, along with a competent, easy-to-use news reader application.

So I will draft a letter to Prodigy Infinitum right away.

Just as soon as I figure out this Spanish thing.
