Dish Network USA Viability in Mexico

This is a heads up to all who receive Dish Network signals. I read on another forum http://www.satelliteguys.us/...satellite-119-w.html that the replacement for the 119 satellite will likely be launched in Jan or Feb and be operational in March of 2010. Looking at the footprint of the conus transponders, it is likely that the signal for some or all transponders will much more focused. The red line, which is the 40 dBw line, is north of Mexico City and Guad. Mexico City will only get an estimated 30 dBw signal, which is much weaker than the current the signal. Since the 119 sat. carries much of the core SD programming, much if it will be lost. Shaw is looking mighty good right now for those in central/southern Mexico.

Hi Tim: I was coincidentally looking at the same forum this morning and posted thereon about my bad luck with 129 W and saying that at least I am glad they won't be activating Echo Star 14 this July 9th as posted in Lyngsat. It was you who first brought it to my attention a while back that the launch might be much later than mentioned in Lynsat. It looks now like it will be launched and activated as you said in early 2010.

Now as far as 129 W is concerned, I'm going to wait and hear if others are having good luck with bigger sat dishes and if they are, I will try placing the correct DISH LNB on my 12 foot tight meshed almost Ku band, C band dish and point same at 129 W.
