I just got an update to Java tonight, 7.10. I checked again for updates after install, an old habit, and it showed another - 7.11 but would not download it. This is on a mac. To check for updates or to disable Java on a Mac go to the system preferences, there is a Java icon, click that and it will open the Java preferences in a new window. oops, I just went and looked on the Oracle site and Java 7.10 is the one that has security problems and 7.11 is the solution and it has been released. My error message was no doubt due to busy servers. So, yes the solution is released and it is 7.11
