Computer help in San Mig

Can't Post | Private Reply
Can anyone recommend someone who can help us choose the right internet supplier, set up a home network for us etc in San Miguel? I'm learning Spanish but it's nowhere good enough to talk about such things with someone who knows no English ( actually I'm not so good talking about them in English either which is why I'm willing to pay someone to help me get it right from the outset.) I'd appreciate any referrals.
Thanks

Brian

I would suggest you come to one of the PC computer meetings at the Biblioteca. They are held each Tuesday morning at 10AM. People come with computer-related questions and discuss other technology issues. The meetings are free and are held on the second floor which is shared with Atencion, the Computer Center and the English classrooms. If you still feel the need for a hands on technician, either Charles Miller (who writes the computer column in Atencion) or Edwin Sours are excellent choices. Don't be shy..come to the meeting. Lots of computer newbies do and its an opportunity to learn a lot.

saludos
Brian

Thanks for this, Brian. I'm afraid I probably won't come to the meetings because, although a computer is essential to my work. my attitude to it is the same as my attitude to my car: I can drive it pretty well and do the basics to keep it going but what happens under the bonnet is the business of the experts. I know this is lazy thinking and puts me at the mercy of others but life's just too short to know everything there is to know about everything.

I'll try to get in touch with one of the people you suggested and see if I can prevail upon them to do some work for me. Thanks so much for taking the time to reply.
