You need a high guality 1.4 meter or larger dish to pick up those channels carried by DISH on the two satellites Echostar 6 and 8 that are located at 110 degrees West. (I think that's the one you're pointed at) There are other DISH satellites carrying many more programs located at different spots in the sky. Echostar 7 is located at 119 degrees West for example. I'm told you need a 1.8 meter or larger dish for that satellite. You asked about transponder 3 on 119 W. Stations carried on that Transponder are spot beamed to spot locations usually about 800 miles in diameter in the US. The chances of you getting them are very, very small. Sadly, often the folks lakeside tell you that if you point your Sat dish at 110 degrees W. that you are getting DISH when actually you are only getting some of the programming DISH offers. In the states, most setups include equipment that allows you to point at two spots in the horizon, at those satellites located at both 110 and 119 degrees West. Often when you want your local stations one has to point at a third point or satellite. Yep, you need a switch I think called an SW21. It sells for about $20 or $30 stateside. You also need a second satellite dish and LNB pointed at the second satellite. (I doubt that you will find a split or dual LNB that you could point at that one dish) To learn about programming go to http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/america.html Dont click on the "Echostar" or" Dish" link, rather click on the words to the right thereof on "Freq". or" VC". You will notice there are some 7 different Dish satellites you could point at. Most programming is on 110 and 119 West. If you were talking to the folks at Sat Systems at 766-1117, they know what they are talking about
