dippin stuff

Twice now I have been served with the initial bread at a restaurant a greeny stuff that was great (forget the steak)
I believe it was parsley, garlic, little vinegar (?) some type of chili and of course, olive oil. What will I have to sell to get a recepie of that wonderful stuff? (what would call it?
thank you)

Sounds like Chimichurri, an Argentine parsley sauce that goes with steak. You can google and find some recipes. Yes, it is good stuff and I have had it here in Maz.

Chimichurri, estilo argentino (the green one) is available at Coctco

Karin, it was good to make the distinction between Argentine chimichurrí and Mexican. The Mexican version is nothing like the Argentine, but appears to be a emulsified, mayo-type sauce with some picante in it.

We too, have seen it at Costco, but there's no point in paying a premium price for something that can be easily made from readily available ingredients, at a fraction of the cost.

Saludos,
