Russet Potatoes

I want russet baking potatoes. Haven't found them in Patzcuaro or Morelia. We have other fresh fruit and veggie imports. Anyone know why no russets?

When the new Soriana opens in Pátzcuaro, you can see if they carry russet potatoes. Maybe put in a request.
All generalities are suspect, including this one.

I've lived in Mexico for 26 years and have never seen russet potatoes for sale anywhere.

I see them occasionally in Mázatlan, maybe twice a year. I think the last time it was in Mega Commercial.

Superlake in San Antonio, Jalisco has them occasionally.

Thanks everyone. I'm going to try ordering at Superama in Morelia, otherwise I will continue to "import" as friends and family come to visit.

Over the past several years, Mexico has at times banned imports of fresh potatoes from Idaho and Colorado becuase of outbreaks of potato cyst nematodes, a root pest of potato plants that can dramatically reduce yields.

I think the two above-named States are the primary producers of russet potatoes NOB.
