I had a very nice visit to the Pátzcuaro Mercado today, and was fortunate to soon stumble upon the Dulcería Arco-Iris. http://www.pbase.com/panos/dulces Sr. Pedro, the young and friendly owner (?), let me take pictures to my heart's content, although he jokingly told me he would charge me $1.00 USD for each photo I took. I told him fine, but that I'd charge him $10 USD for each photo I'd upload. He asked, "So, for what?" I said, "I am going to make you famous.", to which he retorted, "I'm already famous." I told him that now he would be more famous, worldwide, web-wise. More güeros would come to shop there. Which brings us to this aside: he had a British 2 Pound coin, and he asked me what the motto meant on the face side of the coin. I took my best guess, translating from Latin (which I don't speak), and told him it said, "Queen Elizabeth II, Rules by the Grace of God." There are more stores like that one, but I didn't need to go any further today. x-posted to LP Thorn Tree, Mexico Branch and Get Stuffed Branch Saludos, Anonimo
