Original Style Chow Mein (Shrimp Noodles)

A recent article in the Guadalajara press reports on the tremendous popularity of Japaneses style noodle lunches that are easily prepared with a little hot water and extremely popular in Mexico. These are high in salt and fat and carbohydrates and popular beyond belief in Mexico - far more popular that elsewhere in Latin America.

These poisonous concoctions come not from Japan but Southern Califonia, more specifically, from Gandena which is a mainly Japanese town. The company known as NISSIN, has just come out with a new microwave dish known as "Original Style Chow Mein" that it is selling in Mexico for about $10 Pesos a package and here are your stats for a dry package of 113.4 Grams:

FAT 28.0g
Sodium 1.52g
Carbohidratos 64.0g
Calories 556.0

Can someone tell me why Japanese Americans are out to kill Mexicans?

Regardless of what my friend Estaban says, give me a dried up OXXO hotdog any day.

Hate to admit it, but I am hooked on them. Try to keep it down to 2 a week. Never liked them up north, but then we only had the chicken variety. But OH MY! the shrimp with chili piquin! What flavor.
