sorry, i forget to say that nacho in mexico its the diminutive of ignacio, when someones name is ignacio we call it nacho, its a cuestion of love, in mexico when someone tell us his name we ask: y como te dicen de cariño?, it means: and what is your loving name?
bye

hi christie, I think that I can tell you somethings about nachos. First, nachos are really a texmex food, i´m mexican you know (my english is very bad, sorry), i know nachos are eaten in the north of mexico and south of usa, in usa they are eaten with cheese, sorry but i have to say that i dont like it, in mexico the nachos have eaten since centuries, we call they totopos, the original recipe its that they are fried tortillas, cutted in triangles, no in circles, and they are eaten with guacamole, frijoles (beans), salsa, and a lot of things, you can do a soup with them too, and a dish called chilaquiles that is very good. I hope this will be useful to you. bye

Hi Cristie, Honestly, nachos were born in the city of Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico(border town of Eagle Pass, Texas) by a man named Ignacio Anaya.
