Green chicken gizzards.

I have noticed that many of the chicken gizzards sold in the larger stores (especially Sorianas) have a large amount of dark green on a portion of them. This is not mold but the color of that portion which is extremely hard if not impossible to chew.

Seriously, anyone know what this is?

Thanks.

Having cleaned many a gizzard from a home-raised bird especially ducks, there is a greeny-yellow color to the inside of the gizzard once cleaned of the gravelly bits.

Could she be talking about gristle on the gizzard?? Sounds like a country western song...Fried chicken gizzards with cream gravy and biscuits are good for a death row last meal.. What would your fantasy last meal be?? Pull out all the stops..be outrageous!!
