It does look conceptually like a French press but I noticed two distinct differences... it uses a microfilter which supposedly gets rid of the 'grit' common to a French press, and it takes only 30 seconds to brew where my French press suggest 4-5 minutes minimum. While I make no claims to be a coffee connoisseur, I do have a cup each morning and, to my taste, one cannot beat a French press type maker! Schap, does it really only take so short a time to get good coffee???
