sacar fotos o tomar fotos?

Can't Post |
for years I've been hearing and seeing in the Spanish media in the US the usage of tomar fotos instead of sacar fotos. A Spanish teacher years ago said ''tomar fotos isn't correct, and not understood. Sacar is the correct verb.Even some stations from other Spanish speaking countries I think I heard tomar fotos. Ahora ando confundido quien tiene razon?
