Warren Hardy Spanish Classes - San Miguel de Allende

Can't Post | Private Reply
I posted another question concerning Immersion classes. Since this is more specific, I thought it might be a good idea to keep them separate.

I'm still exploring Spanish courses within Mexico and recently learned about a Warren Hardy school in San Miguel de Allende and wanted to get some feedback from those that may have taken Warren Hardy Spanish classes; your impressions and whether you would recommend Warren Hardy.

Thanks in advance.

I took Warren Hardy Spanish classes in Puerto Vallarta. The teacher, Melchor Cortes, was excellent. A true educator, extremely knowledgeable of grammar and usage in both English and Sanish. I totally recommend him, and the Warren Hardy system worked well for me. I'm not sure how much of that actually depends on the teacher.
I would not recommend it for someone who currently does not speak any Spanish. And even if you think you are more advanced than level 1, it is best to start with level 1.

Very helpful feedback. I thought that it might be nice if I could take classes in different regions and this course was mentioned as being offered in San Miguel de Allende.

Thank You!

I did Warren Hardy material/courses in the Lake Chapala area. It can be a good intro to Spanish, especially if you're a beginner and have an excellent teacher. (I do think the teacher and class size can make a huge difference.) In my opinion, the textbooks and materials fall apart completely after the second book, and while not useless, they become very sloppy. You can still learn plenty from them, but...again, the quality of the teacher will make a huge difference.

No idea how the school itself is in San Miguel de Allende. As it turns out though, I'm in San MIguel de Allende as I write this. This small city is absolutely crawling with language schools. So if you decide on SMA as your destination, but don't find Warren Hardy a good fit, you have many other options. Good luck!
