Can't Post | Private Reply
Hi all....My friend and I are arriving in Ajijic this Saturday....she is gluten intolerent....how do we ask if the particular menu item is FREE of FLOUR. This is my fourth trip in 2 years and can't wait....I want this to be a great trip for her with no tummy problems! Anyone who can give us a translation of: { Does this dish contain flour? and.......My friend is allergic to flour, is this flour free? } is an angel in my book!

Thanks....

Try this:

My friend is allergic to flour. Mi amiga tiene alergia a la harina.

Is this flour-free? Seguro que no tenga nada de harina?

It's super-important that there's no flour. Urge que no tenga harina.

Hi...

I'm sure someone who actually speaks/knows Spanish could do much better, but you might get by with:

¿Hay gluten en este plato?
(yes, it's "gluten" in Spanish, too)

¿Hay harina en este plato?
(just asking about flour, but isn't, eg, rice flour ok?)

¿Hay trigo en este plato?
(maybe you should just ask if there's wheat in the dish)

¿Hay harina de trigo en este plato?
(or specify wheat flour...)
