The letter Q

Can't Post |
I wish I had saved the correspondence I recently received, but alas. In the body of the correspondence, the letter Q would pop up quite frequently just as the letter y. I know what y means, but is Q short for something? I'm just learning the basics at the moment and trying to stay away from slang.

Of course I'm out of my mind. It's dark and scary in there!

I've received correspondence showing sentences including just the letter q (usually followed by an apostrophe). The correspondent--usually a teenager or young adult--is using a slangy kind of shorthand in which q' means que.

Se me hace mucho q' no te veo. Not correct Spanish, just a shortcut.

Does that seem anything like what you mentioned?
