Rollo mata cara.

Hi Folks;
I heard this said in a telenovela by a heavy-set gentleman
who seemed to be referring to his own physical appearance.
Has anyone heard this expression before? What does it mean
exactly?
Best regards,
Mike OToole.

There is an old saying "billete mata carita" which means that a guy with money will win the girl over the fellow with a handsome face. You might hear it said when a group of young men see a pretty girl with a not so attractive but well-off hombre. I kind of get the impression that the portly gentleman (with a roll around the middle maybe?) was doing a take-off on the other expression.
The word rollo, among other meanings (the popular TV show "El Otro Rollo"), can mean a farfetched story or one with a lot of embellishment, something that maybe a "galan" might use in his "conquistas". Could be he was referring to something of this nature.

: Hi Folks;
: I heard this said in a telenovela by a heavy-set gentleman
