Referal to "it".

Hi all,
In english, once you mentioned an object you can keep referring back to it by making use of the "it" word (as was the case in this sentence).
For example, although not good english, one can say.
The car is red. It is fast. It is big.
Can one say this in spanish by using "lo"?
El coche es rojo. Lo es rapido. Lo es grande
Is there a difference between referring to different things like objects and abstracts (weather).
It is warm today.
Thank you for clarifying on how to refer.
Jacques

Much easier than all that, Jacques:

El coche es rojo. Es bonito. Es chiquito.

"Lo" is used as an object pronoun .... in Spanish the subject pronoun is understood by the verb ending.

To misquote an expres, "it depends on what IT is".
I am not sure if any rules apply her, but "lo" pops up in odd usages. It gets used most in cases where you can say big words like "damelo" or "amandolo" and also in usages that we don't really have in English like "lo que sea" or ""lo nuestro" meaning "our thing" or "what we had". And more confusingly as a personal pronon, as in "Lo quiero" for I love you or "olvidarlo" for "forget you".
A useful tip is to note that in the really awkward useages like "I don't know what to with it" Mexicans frequently use "ella" to mean "it".
I trust this obscures the issue to your satisfaction.
