Phrase I heard today ...

Today someone said to me "Como que trata de vida". I don't know if I have the spelling correct and I know it has to do something about "life". What were they saying?

"How is life treating you?" Another way of asking "how's it going?"

Como que trata de vida--It seems like it has something to do with life, it seems like it's about life.

Como que--informal expression indicating possibility or probability. Possible translations: it's like, it seems like, it probably ____. Como que las cosas van muy bien--it seems like things are going very well.

trata de--from tratar de, to be about. It is about. El libro trata de un niño--the book is about a boy.

vida--life.

My tiny brain read it as ¿Cómo te trata la vida?

I believe that's what the OP heard--easy to confuse 'te' and 'que'.

Como te trata la vida would make sense if it were a greeting or something similar. It's difficult to tell what the exact words might have been without knowing the context. Context and details are everything. The more we know up front, the faster we can figure out an answer to your questions.
