Need the Sanish word for "brushes" (electric motor)

Any of you know the Spanish equivalent for "brushes" (as in parts of an electric motor)?

I checked Rolly's auto glossary, but didn't find it there either.

Thanks

Ed

It probably is escobilla as shown below, (copied from my on-line dictionary).

brush

1. cepillo, escobón (cleaning)

2. maleza, broza (nature)

3. escobilla (electricity)

4. pincel (art)

5. cepillar (coat)

6. cepillarse (teeth)

7. barrer, escobillar (cleaning)

8. cepillarse, cepillar (hair)

Phrases...
air brush - aerógrafo (art)

brush against - rozar (touch)

brush aside - ignorar, descartar, rechazar (attention)

brush away - quitar (movement)

brush down - cepillar (cleaning)

brush off - mandar a uno a paseo, desairar a, deshacerse de (person)

brush past - pasar rozando (person)

brush up - repasar, refrescar (knowledge)

scrub brush - cepillo de fregar, estregadera (tools)

Hope this helps.

Our dictionary agrees that the word is escobilla (which is also used for a windshield wiper blade).

Okay, I'll try with escobilla. Some things can be regional, I haven't heard that used for windshield wiper blades around here.

Thanks again,

Ed

They are called "carbones". If you are doubtful that that word is correct just Google the words taladro and carbones.

My car buff friends tell me:

windshield wiper = limpiador or limpia parabrisas

wiper blade = goma or goma de parabrisas or hule de parabrisas
