Help please! Restaurant kitchen/Mexican slang

Can't Post | Private Reply
My son's fiancée is from Mexico, so I'm learning Spanish. I speak French, and keep pronouncing the Spanish ALL wrong! But I'm determined to learn, so I can enjoy their wedding in Monterrey, and get to know my future DIL's family.

ANYWAY, apart from that, I'm an author and my 3rd book has a restaurant setting. I need examples of Mexican slang that might be used in the kitchen. References to food, to a hot-tempered-crazy chef/boss, remarks about customers, waitresses, hangovers, cut fingers, innuendos, that sort of thing. I'd really appreciate some help!

Hi...

Sorry, I don't know any vocabulary that'd be of help.

But I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that there are Spanish speaking workers in some of the restaurants in your town, wherever it is.
