I was discussing with a Mexicana the standard greetings, and she said that she always uses "Como esta?", rather than "Como va?". She said that she might use "Como va" in a more specific situation, perhaps in "Como va su projecto?". Amusingly, "Comment ca va?" is the French translation of "Como va". I have thought that Como va? was an informal equivalent of "Como esta?", translated as more or less "How is it going?". What do you guys think? Richard http://www.fergusonsculpture.com
