A challenge for us beginners/joke

Hola,

Humor is universal. What do Méxicans joke about? Are those of us who can't yet read or understand Spanish missing a lot about México? Will our lives in México be richer if we learn Spanish?

So, here is a challenge. Let's see who can come up with a good English translation of the following joke, courtesy of the June issue of "Contenido".

Sacrificio

En la estación de ferrocarril una anciana contemplaba a una pareja de enamorados que se despedían con besos y abrazos. Cuando la muchacha, bañado en llanto. se disponía a bordar el tren, la anciana preguntó:

---Llora usted siempre que se despide de su esposo?

La chica respondió:
---No. Lloro cada vez que tengo que volver a él.

Adios. jerezano.

Jerezano,

Without a lot of direct word for word tranlation and with only one quick reading, here's my stab at it.

An older woman was watching a young couple hugging and kissing in the train station. The young woman was crying as she was about to board the train.

The older woman asked her: "Do you cry every time you leave your husband?"

The young woman replied: "No, I cry every time I have to go back to him."

Now I'll re-read the story and see how well I did.

Gracias for the challenge.

Los cuernos son siempre divertidos a los mexicanos, pienso que es una preocupación nacional.
