Hola, soy Kar¡n de California sur, EU. Como Sra Jillian, me encanta canciones mexicanas y tambien otras canciones en espanol. Escuchando a la radio espanol ayudame a aprender. Hay un cancion muy popular de el grupo Son By Four de Puerto Rico que se llama A Puro Dolor. Necisito ayudar en traducir los liricos de este cancion.

After you translated, I could understand the logic of the last line, but I still don't understand the nuances of how "hacia falta escuchar de nuevo" becomes "I needed to listen again."
Hacer is "to do, to make"
Faltar "to need" (although I have never learned this verb in that sense, only in lacking or missing- is it used often for "to need"?).
Escuchar (listen).
De nuevo? Is this phrase common for "again?"

This is one of those times when learning Spanish is, for me, a puro dolor.

Hacer falta literally means 'to make lack (or need)' and is one of the idiomatic ways of saying 'to miss' or 'to need' or 'to lack'. Hence, hacía falta escuchar de nuevo translates idiomatically to Quevedo's words. If you want to say to your sweetie, 'I missed you a lot', you can say, Me hacías mucha falta. Or if you need a pencil, say Me hace falta un lápiz.

Yes, de nuevo is frequently used where an English-speaker might say 'again'. For example, Mi mamá fue de nuevo al mandado. Or, La niñita se cayó de nuevo en el lodo. (My Mom went marketing again. The little girl fell in the mud again.)
