Your post is a little confusing. If you are interested in a tankless heater, why would you mention 7 liters? In answer to the question posed; 7 liters will probably be sufficient at a kitchen sink.

In the past, I have installed many 2 gallon under sink water heaters, usually in places like medical offices. Two US gallons is close to 7 liters. They provided adequate hot water. The problem with using that type of heater here may be that they use 120V AC power to heat the water. Your electric bill in México may take a beating if you use one of them.

The main thing to be concerned about when buying a water heater is not the size of the tank, but the recovery rate. The recovery rate is the speed at which the heater will heat water, usually how fast it will heat water 60° F. at a starting temperature of 60° F. to reach 120° F. This is usually stated in gallons per hour. If your water heater has a fast recovery rate, you will probably never run out of hot water.

A lot of people put those 2 gal hot water heaters under the kitchen sink because of the long distance from there to the main hot water heater. I'm thinking the water savings would not equal the increased cost for the electric, or maybe I'm just saying that my environmentalism stops at my wallet.

Am suggesting that you look at one of the gas demand heaters. They are excellent - provide a constant supply of hot water and are definitely cheaper to run than the electrical ones. They are also quiet! They are installed on the outside of the kitchen wall.

Now that sounds good. Plus you'd already have gas lines there for the burners. I'm putting that one on my list. My lists for this renovation are getting larger every day.

We have a gas demand water heater in our new home. It's connected to a timer so that we have instant hot water during peak use times, such as morning shower time and evening dinner dishes time. At other times you still get hot water, it just takes a little longer. We really like this water heater. The brand name is Hergom.
